finding the light...{photo challenge: week 4}

 wow. that's all i can say. this week's pictures are absolutely amazing. we've got some regulars now {way to stick to it guys!} and a few newbies {we hope you stay!} and let me tell you they brought their A game to this challenge. I'm so glad i made "finding the light" one of our challenges because it's a difficult task for photographers to master. In fact a lot of photographers shy away from dark shots, or shots with shadows on peoples faces...i used to at least. but i think its all how you look at the image, i love love dark pictures, probably more than i should. Often its that grainy look that gets people frustrated but as i've heard from others "embrace the grain!" Don't rely on that overcast day only to go shooting. Don't fear the sun either! Who says a mid-day shoot can't get you dramatic shots with bold colors and dark shadows, and often that just right, amazingly gorgeous sun flare. man i love the flare. Besides those dark shots, we've got some people thinking outside the box which I LOVE!
Keep it up guys, YOU rock. and now...

Crepe myrtle in the winter- ugly.  Add some snow and uplighting, and
it seemed to make it a little more interesting (especially considering
the snow was in Atlanta, Georgia...which rarely happens!)
{the colors in this are beautiful, the blues, purples...just lovely. Glad you've joined us!}

"Found this place that reminded me of the meadow in Twilight and got some really great shots! The sun playing through the trees created some really interesting shadows and light play!"
{love this girl's work. the light striking her hair/eyes/face
contrasting the shadows...fierce. you should take time to view her work, im just sayin'}
